The Property

Les Chambres d'hotes de L'Aubeniere is a fully restored farmhouse set in 4 acres of garden,surrounded by open countryside. The farmhouse has been fully restored and the accommodation is in a separate guest wing which comprises of two large bedrooms, one twin and one double. The rooms are tastefully decorated and a hospitality tray is supplied.

The owner Sue Gould previously owned The Lobster Pot Inn in Pembrokeshire Wales. The restaurant, which she personally ran, was awarded 'The Taste of Wales' accolade for the food and welcome given. So you are sure of an excellent welcome.

A full continental breakfast is served in the delightful dining room, at a time to suit you, and should you be staying for a few days a varied breakfast will be supplied. Breakfast can also be served in the garden subject to the weather. Evening Meals can be supplied with notice and local fresh produce is always used including vegetables from her own garden.

You are welcome to relax in the lounge and garden where there are many places to sit and read , day dream or just plan the next day. We only accept one booking at a time so you are sure you will not be disturbed by other guests.

The Local Area

The Orne is an area with a great variety of Landscapes, dotted with forests, stud farms and fine Chateaux. It is a paradise for outdoor pursuits such as horse riding, rambling, golf and fishing, plus you will find the fullest tourist information in your room.

L'Aubeniere is in the south of Normandy and is Normandy in its most natural state where green fields, deep river valleys and forests abound, punctuated by fine manor houses and estates. Some of these are home to well known stud farms, for this is also the home of the horse. The county town of Alencon is famous for its lace making whilst Bagnole de L'Orne's thermal station offers health, wellness and relaxation in a wonderful natural setting.

L'Aubeniere is located in the famous Falaise Gap where the final battle for Normandy  was fought. The area is full of history stretching back over the centuries.

 

The prices are per room and from €45 a night depending on season.
Evening meal including wine: €17.50

 

Bedrooms: In the guest wing we have two delightful bedrooms one double and one twin. All guests comment on how comfortable the beds are.
A hospitality tray is supplied. All rooms are centrally heated when required.
Bathrooms:There is a fully refurbished family bathroom for the two rooms with bath,shower,sink and wc, with a separate wc  at the end of the corridor.

Location: L'Aubeniere is only one hour south of Caen and the ferry from Portsmouth.

Nearest town: Flers and Failase are both about 12 kilometres away.

Nearest airport: Dinard is less than 2 hours away.
