The region of Aquitaine is made up of five departments: The Dordogne (Dept 24) Gironde (Dept 33) Landes (Dept 40) Pyrenees Atlantiques (Dept 64) and Lot et Garonne (Dept 47).

Aquitaine is immensely diverse and offers the flat, sandy plains and pine forests of the Landes to the beautiful lagoon and sand dunes of the Bassin d’Arcachon.

Bordeaux is one of the best and most established wine growing regions in France. Towards the Pyrenees the region takes on a Spanish feel in the popular resorts of Bayonne and Biarritz.
